I had a cat once.(She died suddenly at 2 years old of aneurysm ) I had two in the time that I had her and when I would lie down, she sat propped up on my head and began "massaging" my head with her front paws. (You know where they open and close their paws while pushing) This with her rhythmic purring DID ease the intensity of the pain.
I know it sounds totally silly, but she did it and these two times were the only time she did it on my head and she napped with me each night. I miss her she would have hated Maddie and Cooper. LOL

So there you go Ann, find a highly intelligent cat to massage your head.
Your experience makes sense to me. I clerked for neurosurgeons when I was in school and they often prescribed therapy for headache/migraine and seizure sufferers to help them learn techniques to manage, relieve, or avoid pain or seizures. Some of the techniques involved finding pressure points, as Tammy referenced, and using some kind of tones that would probably be like your cat purring. I wouldn't doubt that some of the therapy included what Lisa described in her experience, irritating advice to reduce stress and increase sleep.

TammyJM, I like the fish oil with borage. I suffer the occasional headache with atmospheric pressure changes, but I do feel much better when I take the supplement.
