roseslevi: that's so cute that the birds "rode" around on your pup. Since the breeder I am looking at has hand-fed birds, I'm glad that they are more social. How do you regulate your bird as far as pooping wherever they want? If they are out of a cage majority of the time you are home, I can see it as a problem to regulate their poop. I assume, I would get a perch and put newspapers under it?
I would just place my bird back on the "playtop" of the cage and tell Blue(the lovebird) to go potty. When he did he got a nutriberry treat. He got the picture pretty quickly. If he had an occasional accident it was not the end of the world to clean up. The pet store sells a bird poop cleaner spray...that works and deodorizes well.
