I had a yorky that had epilepsy. At first vet thought it was low blood sugar because he was 2 mos old at the time but he cont. to have a couple of these episodes per month. The vet changed his dog food thinking he had food sensitivities. Well we moved to another state and my dog s episodes increasedto 1-2 times a week and I took him to a new vet that prescribed pnenobarbital. His seizures remained under control with the PB.but blood chemistries are drawn every year because PB CAN BE TOXIC TO THE LIVER.My Kirby eventually developed cirrhosis of the liver and passed away this year due to liver toxicity.Cathy and Yoshi |
