I just had to comment what a wonderful idea to have the daughter play hide and seek with treats! What a great idea to give the new arrival space to associate the daughter with something positive...and yummy! Eventually they can move up to other games and training...but that's an awesome ice breaker to get the new dog comfortable and in play mode!
