A firm "No" is all it takes with Reagan. Sometimes even just a "Reagan" in a what in the world are you doing voice works well too. We used to do the time out thing but that was only when she pottied on the floor. And even then it was more for me because there towards the end it was really getting frustrating and it was much easier to put her in her kennel while I cleaned it up and a few minutes afterward so I could calm myself. I do have to say though there was a point where I just quit putting her in her kennel (pretty much out of laziness on my part) for that reason and it seemed like she started having more accidents so in the kennel she went and she started doing better again. I don't know if she was testing me or just didn't receive a punishment so she didn't care if she went inside or not. She's doing great now actually she's housebroken so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I think every dog is different and you just have to find what works best for both of you.
