I don't think they can raw chicken. I think perhaps she meant just the regular canned chicken. Nutrical and Karo are good for hypoglycemia, which can accompany dehydration, but don't treat the dehydration it's self. Both should be given in small amounts and followed up by an easily digestible protein (such as canned chicken) to prevent a rebound hypoglycemic episode.

As for the pedialyte, my vet did recommend I give it during a bad bout of dehydration with my doxie. Dehydration is one of those things that is more easily prevented than treated. It progresses quickly. This is one of those things that you should discuss with your vet before it actually happens so that you have the right supplies on hand.

An update from the OP would be nice.
