Until one has a yorkie, I don't think they can understand the depth of feelings we have for them. I know I had no clue just how deeply these little ones would worm their way in to my heart.
Let it go and look at it as his loss that he doesn't "get it". There are a whole lot of worse things to be obsessed about.
