If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't bring in a puppy at this time, but I would consider bringing in another one year old dog, provided it got along well with my current dog.

I have no kids at home, but I have a 1-year old Yorkie, and I added another 1-year old Yorkie about 2 months ago that needed a new home. They really entertain one another, and that can be helpful when your new baby arrives.
