I was going to suggest that you have his bile acids checked too. Seizures are a symptom of liver disease, shunt or mvd. It's an easy test and can rule out liver problems. My Indiana was 7 mos old when he was diagnosed with a liver shunt. He had surgery and is fine now. If his bile acids are normal it could be epilepsy. I had a shepherd/wolfhound mix that started seizuring when she was 6wks old. She was on phenobarbitol her whole life and lived to be 15yrs old. I now have a 10 yrs old Jack Russell that has acquired epilepsy and she is on phenobarbitol and doing well. Seizures are scary, but if it truly is epilepsy, it can be treated and the dog can live a long life. |
