Thank you all for your responses! Basically all of you have summed up what's running through my head. We realize that it could be VERY difficult having a newborn and a puppy still in training. One of the reasons we were even considering doing it now is we were told that we're best off adding a second dog before our first gets any older (he's just a year now). The second reason is we'd still have about 3 months to get the puppy trained (although I've learned with Yorkies that's not as long as it sounds
). I think we're leaning towards waiting now.
