IMO, it's not the same as feeding raw but (I believe)that it IS the best kibble available. In my mind, fresh unprocessed foods are better for dogs than any sorts of kibbles.

If I were going to feed kibble again, I would use Orijen.

I see the progression like this

(fresh) Raw > Freeze dried Raw (like ziwipeak) or prepared frozen raw > dehydrated foods (like Honest Kitchen > Good, quality kibble (Orijen or other similar types) > Mid-level kibble (such as Blue Buffalo) > all other kibble

This is just my opinion. Yours may vary
