I wouldn't quite say that. I don't argue just to be the devil's advocate. I comment on topics of interest to me, and I do feel passionately about dog welfare. I wouldn't debate something just for the thrill of the argument. For me though, disagreeing with someone doesn't mean "I hate you", it just means, "I'm not convinced." I come from a scientific background, and for me, disagreeing is part of learning and being open minded.
That being said, I know that sometimes I dispense with the areas I DO agree on, and focus just on the parts I don't, and I think that can give people the impression that I don't respect them.
I also feel strongly that people should always try to be civil to each other, and it's been hard for me to accept that YT isn't always like that. But things don't have to be perfect for them to be wonderful.
