Panacur is a dewormer, it is what I used on Elvis he came to me loaded with whip worms...well I had to treat all my dogs because he had been here three days so they could have all had them then, Panacur is pretty safe and really effective I totally trust it, it kills several types of worms. Ponazuril is an antibiotic used to treat Coccidia, I'd prefer a different sulfonamide, ALBON. For the Guardia (was it G. Canis-?) Fenbendazole in conjunction with Metronidazole, maybe your vet felt that Ponazuril was appropriate in treating both-but you should know it is one of the lowest cost antibiotics...bleach. bleach, bleach and you may want to consider a trip to your Dr. for a regiment of antibiotics as a precaution Guardia is not to be messed around with. I know this is gross but if you can get your dog to potty on cement or anything but dirt or grass DO IT it is easier to bleach cement or even tile and ensure you kill parasites rather than let them gestate and later re-infest your pet because you l can't guarantee bleach in soil will reach it all-you know to remove all pooh immediately right-don't let it stay on the ground bag it and toss it in your garbage-while wearing gloves then toss them too immediately. |
