We have the little children in our family sit or lie down on the floor to play with the Yorkie. We discourage and only rarely let them carry the Yorkie around.
When the children and the Yorkie are on the carpet (or a blanket) --they all have a lot more fun. The little pup goes bonkers crazy and runs all over the place...even all over the children jumping on them, kissing them, and yes- evening biting them (he's teething). It's really much more fun for all of them.
Frankly - my Yorkie doesn't like to be held by anyone for very long. He just has too much energy to sit still.
And - children carrying a Yorkie around can be very dangerous. I was holding the little pup myself once and somehow he pushed against my chest with his feet and just flew out of my arms. He fell all the way to the floor and scared me to death. Fortunately, he was none the worse, but he could easily have broken a bone or have landed on his head. It was very frightening, and it happened so fast that I couldn't stop it. I
