In the past month or so, I've noticed that Thor no longer wants to play-guard his toys with me. We used to have so much fun with this. He would either hold the toy in his mouth, and I would try to get it away from him (I have to use my pinky because otherwise it would be no fight at all), or he would lie on top of his toy and play-bite my hands when I grabbed for it.
I think what happened is that in one of my play grabs, I accidentally hit his face and scared him. Now if I "play bow" to him, he starts licking his lips, and if he has a toy in his mouth, he drops it. I think he believes now that I am not kidding around when I act like I want his toy.
Anyway in the past few days, he FINALLY started to act like his old self again, even growling at me a little bit when he had a toy -- his growl is HILARIOUS. And just now, when I was reaching for a toy in his mouth, I sort of smacked him again. It was very soft, but I think it was enough to kill his confidence, because he started dropping his toys immediately after that.
I guess I need to be way more careful about grabbing for his toys. I just hope he'll work up his courage one more time.
