I learned from a woman in California, who owned 2 Female Yorkies, that this breed has the capacity and intelligence to learn the vocabulary of up to 200 words. So I'm putting it to the test in different tones and languages. I don't say "No" with Artie, I say "Hey" and I also speak to him in "Tagalog" w/c is Flipino (my native language) as well as english. I tell him where we are going when we get into the car. When we are out on his daily walks 7 am. & 5 pm. in our Apartment complex and he meets other dogs I tell him their names. It seems to be working.

Now with "Abigail" the 7 week old I do say "No" in a sharp tone, she apparently needs to be spoken to in that manner......that seems to be working too! They have different personalities/energy and attitudes. I've read many Books on Yorkies 8 to be exact, and they do mention that since they are so sensitive. But I do what I deem right for my fur people since I am the that has to live with them on a daily basis.
