I would never ship another puppy. I had one shipped in July from Oklahoma (obviously a puppy mill to me now, but at the time I wasn't aware of this) and she died within 3 days of arriving and me spending over 1,000 on vet bills trying to save her. Now my situation is drastic and I didn't do my research so I urge you to research this breeder thoroughly. Mind you I live in Arizona and our Summers are like 120 degrees so I should have been suspicious about them shipping in that extreme weather - as you should be with this breeder.
When I got my Shorkie I was in the same situation in that a breeder I wanted was in Canada but I did not want to ship it. I ended up paying three times as much as I would have to the Canadian breeder by opting to go to a local breeder bc I got to know her, see her house and to me the reassurance of truly knowing where my puppy came from was worth paying triple than going through the trauma again of getting a sick puppy. You can't put a price on a puppy and you might just have to spend more than you want to get a healthy puppy that's near you. |
