Its possible the groomer did nick him or use a blade that was too warm for that sensitive area.

It is also possible that the groomer did nothing wrong at all. She could have been very careful when shaving his sanitary area but Dudley could have just found it itchy so he started rubbing his butt on the floor. The rubbing would have made it itch more so he'd keep doing it and eventually his little butt would get all red and irritated.

In a case like this I would put Desitin or Butt Paste on the irritated area and rub it in really well. Don't let him lick at it. The butt paste is excellent. I used to use it at the emergency hospital on sore spots, red bums, and some road rash. it helped immensely.

Also be sure to tell the groomer either next time or call tomorrow so they can write it on his card to scissor his sanitary instead. This way it shouldn't bother him so much and hopefully he won't scoot around.
