This thread has been a real eye opener to me about how different countrys can be.
Honestly using the phrase "oh my god" to my knowlege has never been an issue here in England, you would hear it said here all of the time.
I just dont think people think it is taking the lords name in vain here, its nice to learn about different cultures though.
Swearing is the same, from what ive read and heard on TV swearing is a much bigger thing in the US then it is here in the UK.
Especially where I live, you may be shocked, but many people use the F word without even realising they have said it.
It actually sounds really bad reading that back but its the truth, here in Newcastle thats just the way most people speak, obviously nobody is trying to be offensive or anything. But then people are offended by different things.
Its nice to learn about our differences.
