I admit, I say oh my God a lot. I don't mean it in a degrading way or anything, it's just what comes out when I'm either shocked, or whatever. I don't understand what's bad about saying it? If someone could fill me in lol.
according to almost all Christian and protestant faiths that would be downright taking the Lord's name in vain. I am not allowed to say it both by my mother and myself and wouldn't allow children to say that either. oh my goodness doesn't bother me a bit as do good grief, gracious, or geez. with the culture we live in today saying OMG so much and without any thought to what they're really saying it's not that uncommon to hear those words, but they do offend me and i think people should be more sensitive that for some of us God is our Lord and Savior and we don't appreciate hearing His glorious name used in such a strong way. i would never correct anyone's use of it, but it does prick my ears to hear it used that way just the same as the "f" word when used too often.
