I got my lil girl spayed at a Natural / homeopathic Vet's office and he didn't recommend a collar or onesie. He stitched her so the stitches are internal - really clean. She barely licks it. I know this thread is old, but in case someone googles "yorkie and spay" perhaps this post can help them. The doctor said not to clean the site unless it's oozing and to only use Witch Hazel. He said it's perfectly ok for them to lick it occasionally and that collars and onesies are unnecessary. He recommended a baby aspirin for pain or 1/4 of an adult aspirin, which is what I've been giving her. She is recovering well. The doc let me watch the surgery. It was fascinating. The surprising part was that there was hardly any blood at all. It's hard to watch her struggle with stairs (I lift her) and she's very low on energy for now, but I suspect she'll be back to her playful self in a day or two.
