I think Thor is probably awake only a few hours per day. He'll stay awake if we're outdoors all day... I think he's probably just bored. I don't think there's much I can do about that though, because he doesn't like to move unless I'm moving too. If I take him to the park and sit on a bench, he'll sit there too. If I walk around or play fetch with him, it's a different story.

He also doesn't "self entertain". He doesn't like chews unless he can demolish them in under twenty minutes. He only plays with toys if I'm playing too, etc.

I do worry about him being bored most of the day, and I think the solution is to get him a buddy. However, he's not very social with other dogs, so I'm waiting for the perfect dog to come along - very small, very friendly, but mellow too. In the meantime, Thor goes to doggy daycare 2x / week to practice his social skills.

He actually also needs a ton of exercise -- it's a weird combination. I walk him, take him to the park, train him every day, etc. However, unless I'm really engaged with him, he's probably dozing.
