Well this is the thread that brought me back here and yes, I am the Larry mentioned in the second post. Lexie has been riding over 4 years now with 2010 being a banner year. Lexie rode over 10,000 miles this year on my new bike. Granted that I have customized a lot of gear to enable her to be comfortable and safe on the bike, but its really not that hard as long as your dog likes it. I would never have her do it against her will.
When I first took her for a ride she enjoyed it and I didn't think anything of it. At the time I rode a loud Harley Davidson Electra glide Ultra Classic. Then one day I went to leave on the bike and she went nuts. She wanted up on that bike in the worst way.
It was then that I realized she instantly developed a love for the bike. Today I can't go near the bike without her wanting to sit on the seat as I get ready just so she can be sure she is not left behind.
I created a web site for her because so many people would chase us down and take pics. Today, the web site is lettered on the bike so people do not have to go nuts to see her.
If you are thinking of taking your pup on the bike, i am sure there is not a situation I have not been in from heavy rain to extreme cold or worse, extreme heat. Feel free to ask away.
BTW, I am currently developing a line of heated clothing for dogs so Lexie can ride all winter with me. If successful, I plan on using the line for hunting and sporting dogs.
