I cracked my own tooth the other day biting my nails  so I just think it is going to happen when it is going to happen to be honest.
But, I do think that there is an increase risk using these hard items after speaking with the dental clinic and therefore they are gone from this house. Well except for the corns which are gummy on the ends and harder in the middle. Tried to take that away and Barney cried at the door and smelled the air for hours - heartbreaking, simply heartbreaking!  |
Hard objects can and do crack teeth. I did find a couple of links where people said that their pups cracked teeth on Nylabones. But, that being said, they also can crack them on any hard object.
I know you are right...as is your vet dentist.
I was simply saying that I use them and honestly don't think my pups are at any more of a risk than if they chewed on a rock outside and yes, they have done that! I have had to remove some strange items from their mouths over the years. I had one that found a piece of glass on the floor one day and was chewing it.
I had broken a jar the day before and was sure I had gotten it all off the floor.
All that being said, I suppose if one does chip a tooth one day, I will now feel guilty. I dunno.
