This was recommended to me by my vet. Even with an insurance you need an emergency fund.

Have I obtained insurance, yes. But, here's my experience with it. I have a boy that required Major Surgery due to an accident. The insurance I obtained would only cover 80 % of the costs incurred. That being said, I still had to pay for services out of pocket and then had to be reimbursed. But, I wasn't reimbursed until a major battle with the carrier. Yep, they worked hard on not paying it. Pet Insurance Providors have a team of vets on staff that go through every claim and work hard at not to honor claims. These vets provided me with a letter telling me my boy's problem was due to a genetic issues and because of this they would not honor the claim. I had to go back to my vet and a Specialist and have them provide all the x-rays, procedures and submit all their information proving their arguement on truama. I finally was reimbursed....6 months later.
