Bless her little heart! She's been through so much in her life. I'm really glad she has such a loving home to take care of her and love her as she was meant to be loved. I completely understand your worry. I think we are all that way and usually leave the vets office in tears when we drop them off. I had one that had to have that surgery when she was nine. She did just fine, except for the bandage around her tummy that made her uncomfortable. That was a long time ago now. She recovered very quickly, too. Let us know how she does. We'll be thinking of her and sending prayers her way.
