I will loko into heartguard as well. Has anyone also heard of intraceptor? Is that a competitor for heartguard or Advantage?

Thank you for your replies.
I started mine on heartguard at 12 to 14 weeks and the advantage...the advantage is just for fleas only...I tried the intraceptor its the same as heartguard...but my girls didn't like it, I had to hide it in some yummy food before they would take it...but the heartguard they like...Bella thinks its a treat now..lol...but both are good.

before you start your 5 yr old yorkie on any heartworm protection have him/her tested for it first...cause if he/she has heartworms and you don't test for it and just give it, it can make them very ill or even kill them.

Talk with your vet, take his advice over mine and good luck.
