I have a male maltese and a female yorkie. Both are extemely attached to me. My male is more aggressive, yappy and not as sweet natured. He likes to be at my side but not on my lap, he isn't very playful. My female yorkie is quite, more gentle, sweet natured, submissive, playful. She is more of a lap dog and wants to be held more, rocked, treated like a baby, etc. They both follow me around like shadows. I think it just depends on the personality of each dog. I prefer females..only because I had all sons..and want something thats a female. :-) . You will have a wide range of personlities and temperaments from each.
