Put a throw (blanket) over the back of the new couches and get some of that "doggy stay off" stuff from the store-make sure it's safe though, and spray it on the blanket (it might stain a couch) this along with verbal and consistent training just might work. Maybe with the new couches having a new smell and such and implementing a new rule with the new couches you stand a chance. I use a throw on the back of my sofa because the dogs have ripped the leather on the top from getting up and down...
