I normally put my hands under his chest and under his rear. Sometimes I put my hands under his chin but he mostly rests on my hands that is under his rear. I never pull him by his tail. Bigger dogs have stronger trachs and stronger tails than a yorkie or the smaller of the toys. I don't like when they hold them by the lead and the tail and put them off the table, it does hurt them in my opinion at least the smaller of the toys
