My groomer hates me. Jillie is now going every 4-5 weeks, and I get chewed out every time for matting. She suggested I don't use a harness, and I told her that's impossible. But I compromised and make sure I take off harness and coat as soon as walk's over. I also brush her at least once a day (a big improvement for me), preferably right after the walk. I never thought of brushing her before the coat goes on. I'll try that.

I also bought a detangler brush that I run through the matts before they get bad.
