Yes take your pup to a vet ASAP.
It could well be an ear infection because the ears 'smelling' can be a sign of this.
When I brought my Poppy home I noticed that her ears smelled funny, kinda like... sweaty feet. Thats the only way I can describe it.
I took her to the vets and turns out she had ear mites, these are VERY uncomfertable for the dog.
They can be treated with a course of anti-biotics just like an ear infection, but if either are left un-treated they can turn serious.
