When Rowdy was little, I confined him to the den and my office. I am very lucky that both these rooms have stained concrete floors so his "accidents" were easily cleaned up. I'm also lucky that my hubby is retired so between he and I (I work), we could take Rowdy outside, stand there and say, "Go potty" a jillion times about every 1/2 hour. He still had accidents, but he usually went potty outside when we took him out. When we had to be gone, we put him in his x-pen. He did pretty well, but still had accidents till we got a doggie door and he could come and go as he pleased. It only took him a day or two to begin to go out on his own and then he rarely had an accident after that (he did have some but they were pretty infrequent).
