Shaking is a sign of pain, so it's a possibility she was in a lot of pain and not just cold. She may have a back or hip problem if she was refusing to sit. I'd get it checked out anyway, because you can never be too sure about this kind of thing, believe me! Dogs are really good at hiding pain and pretending nothing is wrong, so when they do show pain, something is definitely wrong.
