My two youngest dogs, Lizzy my yorkie,who is three, and my IG puppy, one this month, both have a small greenish tatoo on their tummy from when they were spayed. Neither came from a shelter or were ever in a shelter. My vet doesn't do it, but some vets in the Atlanta area must do it routinely. Attached is a picture of Lizzy's tat.
