You have a wonderful heart. You turned down a puppy to give Tommy a chance at a real life! Congratulations! I have faith that you and Tommy will be the very best of pals forever. He's just adorable, too.
I found a little 3-pounder right on some railroad tracks in town one day a few years ago. I was disappointed to return him to his owners, too. As I handed him back to them, he put on his brakes, so to speak, and didn't want to go to them, but what can you do? I still think of him and wonder what his fate was.
