When we got Dinky, the breeder told me he would be under 3.5 lbs, but I thought she was probably exaggerating. His mom looked as if she were at least 5 lbs, and word is that his dad is 3.5
Anyway, he's 9 months old, he weighs about 3 and a quarter lbs. He doesn't seem to be getting any bigger. He has been at the same weight since September. I was hoping he would get to a nice sturdy 4 lbs. We were not rally looking for a dog that small, but he seemed very calm and sweet, so we chose him. As it turns out, he is still calm and sweet--and still very little. Despite his little size, Dinky walks like a champ. We walk 2 miles every night, and he walks at least half of that. We are sure this is making him sturdy and strong. I hope he is a "slow grower."
I want him healthy and strong, but well, he IS named Dinky!
