Tipping used to be done when someone went above and beyond the expected service - but not anymore. Now its everywhere. There should be a wage properly set for all work - and no tipping. I totally understand giving a gift during the holidays - that's different.
I also tip my groomers. She is the owner, as well. She charges me $45.00 for cut, wash, teeth brushing and nail trimming. I always go well above the recommended 20% tipping. But why should I????
Why do we really tip?

You know I kind of agree with this. I'm big on customer service, and when someone does a super job then I tip. But I felt really under pressure with my salon when I hit a huge financial bump, I used to tip her an extra $10 which would be about 20%, then HST went up and I also had some issues, I felt horrible that the next few visits I have to reduce her tip.
I just feel like there is a lot of pressure once you start tipping.
(that's my vent too)
