My mother has fibromyalsia. She was diagnosed with MS and did meds for like 10 years for MS.... then she was diagnosed with RA (like you) and did those meds for 2 years, they were making her sick and conflicting with her MS meds.... finally she moved to New Mexico, saw a new neurologist. He did the whole battery of tests again after 10 years and found that she had neither MS or RA and in fact had fibromyalsia. She now takes a ketamine suspension med, liquid 4x a day and once a year she gets needles in her back (shes under for this and it does not hurt her) that cut and cauterize the nerves that are sending the pain signals. This worked wonders for her. She was in such severe pain for sooooo long and now she's like a whole new person! I think Fibro might be better than RA or MS diagnosis, at least it was for my mom, she's back to normal now pretty much but yes, she'll need her meds and this needle procedure for the rest of her life.
