It's primarily dogs on high protein kibble who have had elevated kidney values as kibble is very dehydrating. Protein is processed through the liver and kidneys so if your dog is chronically dehydrated from eating strictly a kibble diet, it puts strain on the kidneys. High protein canned, homecooked or raw don't usually cause any problems.
If I were going to feed kibble only I would choose a kibble that is lower protein. Castor-Pollux is an excellent food and Petsmart carries it. |
Is it good to mix Castor-pollux with Acana dog dry food?? Or maybe castor-pollux in the morning and Acana at night?
