Mary, have you tried the new andis excels? i love mine. much quieter then the other models, lighter, easier to hold, and mine is pink (lol). plus i find that they don't get as hot as quickly because you can use a lower speed setting most of the time. i also oil my blades like crazy and do not use cool lube so my blades run great and don't build up extra heat on small dogs. seriously these are so much nicer then the other andis models. i forgot my clippers one day and had to use my old ones and by dog two my hand and arm were killing me. i didn't realize the weigh difference between the two until i went to use the old ones again. you have got to try the new andis excel if you can. they are wonderful
