Lizzie is not good with strange dogs. I've only ever seen her take to a strange dog one time and that was a little fawn mix breed that I thought was a Pyrenean Shepard. Makes me think that could be my next breed
. She has warmed up to the dogs in our agility class, but only after giving them all the rules according to Liz.
I think it's mostly temperament with Lizzy. I got her at nine months, and have taken her everywhere. I've had people give her treats, and she will take treats from people, but doesn't want them petting her. To me, it means I just have to be more careful with her.
My IG puppy, whom Liz wasn't crazy about but is pretty good with now is the polar opposite, LOVES other people, LOVES other dogs. The IG standard says IGs should be aloof, but not this dog. I don't really like this either, as she approaches any dog, friendly or NOT
. All my other IGs are good with other dogs, but could take them or leave them. Same with people. If someone wants to pet them and calls them or indicates they want to pet the dog, they will let them. Otherwise, no.
