His behavior does sound odd. How is he this morning? Sometimes little things that we don't notice will really upset a dog. I have a couple that get terrified if they hear thunder. Also a couple of mine get terrified at the smell of smoke. Was there any bad weather in the area or unusual smells in the house? Does the hair coloring have a different smell to it?
