Behavior Problem: Does Your Dog Have Any Tonight, a Golden Retriever wanted to meet Maxwell at his agility class. He wasn't so welcoming to the idea after he got a smell of him. He got down in the "down dog" position and showed his teeth and growled. The lady did move her dog away since he looked like he was going to attack. He likes large dogs like the Lab/Husky in the neighborhood and is comfortable around him, so why did he act this way, I have no idea. The Golden Retriever was very friendly and a bit shy but my little guy is getting this way a lot with certain dogs. I haven't been walking him in the neighborhood lately for this reason and other reasons. Has this ever happened with you and your dogs~? Is there a reason for it, do you know~? Our agility teacher told me that he may be comfortable with the Lab/Husky in the neighborhood and not this new dog he met tonight. Any suggestions are appreciated. |
