I didn't make a thread for week 4 (or 5.... I'm forgetting what week I am on!)
But wanted to add a little update. I will make a new thread for Week 6 and hopefully get pics/video.
Jackson made me SO proud last weekend. We did off leash work the ENTIRE class, so there were 6 dogs total all off leash together and everyone behaved perfectly. He was focused on me for the entire hour class and never once ran off or wandered off and did all the equipment beautifully.
We have been introduced to more sequences. So first he had to do tire jump, then curved tunnel, then tire jump again, then tunnel one more time all in one. Then he had to do 4 jumps in a row, table, dog walk. The third sequence was a-frame, jump, then tire jump. He did all beautifully. The a-frame is his FAVORITE by far. He voluntarily loves to go up there. lol. Also the jumps... he jumps over all 4 of them even when I don't ask him to
so he clearly loves to jump.
We were first introduced to the teeter last class too, and showed no hesitation. Of course the instructor was holding it so it didn't "bang" down when they are first learning to walk it.... but she began letting the BACK of it 'slam' down after the dog was already hopped off of it so they get used to the noise. He jumped the first time a little bit, but after that he was fine. The trainer is taking the teeter VERY slow. She said her own Lab took 1 1/2 years to get back on it after he jumped on the teeter wrong and it slammed down.
Overall, I'm totally glad we did this class. He's been impressing me over and over again and I'm so glad I'm able to see him growing and learning every class and it's something we BOTH enjoy. He's also made a little doggy friend named Baxter, we've exchanged e-mails with his 'parents' (LOL) so we can set up doggy play dates.
