I definitely vote to take him with you. I take mine with me always. I don't have problems leaving them to the hotel. I just make sure I take them for a long walk before I leave them alone and I let the tv play so they have some noise in the room. If they are tired they just sleep until I come back.
I believe that its better to leave them in a hotel room for a few hours than to leave them home for some days
