Teach your little one how to sit. Once you have that down, teach stay. Lots and lots of treats will help. Reward your little one every time he does this right. I did this with Stomper for about 6-8 months (we got him at 8 weeks). You need to be consistent. It is not going to be easy because you need to dedicate the time to teach your little one.
Stomper doesn't even go by the door anymore until after I have walked out. Teaching commands will help you be the boss and make your dog feel rewarded for listening...
