My Coco had free run of the house from about 1 year old when I felt comfortable that she was 100% reliable - and she was by about 8 months old. I always put her away in the laundry room area when I leave the house and at night, only because I feel she is safer. She is too small and has never been able to jump up on the furniture or climb stairs, and really...........is always by my side wherever I go in the house. Now on the other hand, we have Beckham. He is 9 months old and not at all cooperating with housebreaking, so we now block off most of the house. I'm trying, but he still chooses when he wants to go on the pee pads in the laundry room to get praise and a treat, or just to go right in front of me on the marble floor in the kitchen and get yelled at. |
