Gatsby has never been crated during the day if i was home because I could watch him closely and scold hi if he pottyed wrong but he took to the puppy pads right away and was using them exclusively after a week. he slept in the crate at night until he was 14 weeks old when he would potty outside in the morning now at almost 2 years old he has complete access except the foyer so he can try and bolt out the door(he is not fixed and although he has never tried to bolt out the door i still keep it gated)
