No, there won't necessarily be discharge. Often, pyoderma (staph intermedius) can just look like red spots - similar to your picture - and without any scabs.

Most Vet Derms will use Simplicef x 3-4 weeks when pyoderma is diagnosed. It usually clears it right up!
